Many Many Happy Returns of the day Krish..

28.08.2013

On this auspicious day, I'd like to wish all u lovely people out there a very Happy Janmashtami..
Walking down the memory lane..I grew up with Ramanand Sagar's Sri Krishna..

It was my favorite serial coz I simply loved d story, his teachings, those Raas-Lila's ,wo maakhan ko churana, wo matke phhodna..

With due respect to all religions, I always believe that all d religions spread d same message of love, humanity, kindness & compassion for fellow beings..

I'd like to ponder upon & implement on some of d lessons learnt from his life story..

As a child, there was genuine unconditional love n respect 4 his mother Yashoda who tied him with a rope which he could easily get out of but he didn't coz he respected her..

4me, there is no love story in d modern era which comes even remotely close 2 d eternal love story of Radha & Krishna..

A friendship like Krishna & Sudama is very hard to find where there is selfless love n u r ready 2 give everything u have without even thinking about yourself..When Sudama came 2 meet Sri Krishna, no1 allowed him coz they didn't believe that a king could have a friend who was so poor that he didn't even have proper clothes2cover his body..Krishna left everything n went to meet Sudama barefoot wen he came2knw bout it..

My personal favorites 4m d Geeta Saar r :

Whatever happened in the past, it happened for the good; Whatever is happening, is happening for the good; Whatever shall happen in the future, shall happen for the good only. Do not weep for the past, do not worry for the future, concentrate on your present life.

Karmanye Vadhikaraste, Ma phaleshou kada chana - You have the right to perform your actions, but you are not entitled to the fruits of the actions.

Ma Karma Phala Hetur Bhurmatey Sangostva Akarmani – Do not let the fruit be the purpose of your actions, and therefore you won’t be attached to not doing your duty.

In d modern context, relating this to selflessness:

When we help someone, we don’t do it for the sake of something in return, whether we are rewarded for our actions or not, this is not our concern. And when we help someone without worrying about our own gains, this is selflessness. We don’t think what are we going to get from that. The importance is that as a human being we have been able to help someone.

Lets act on his message of selfless service, Nishkama Karma , pure love, true friendship & follow the path of virtue and righteousness in thought, word and action so as to heal d world n make it a better more beautiful n peaceful place to live in where there is love, respect n compassion 4 every soul regardless of their caste, creed, color or religion ..

Many Many Happy Returns of d day Krish..

With love,

Devika Tandon
